Still have questions?

When can I can cancel my plan?

You can cancel your plan at any time, with no cost.

How does messaging work?

If you select a plan that has messaging access, you will be able to message with your counselor outside of your regular, live sessions. You will be able to send and receive text messages securely with your counselor. Your counselor will commit to checking messages every day, and it is recommended that they check in the morning and the evening. Messaging access can be particularly helpful as you try to bring what you discuss in your 1:1 sessions into your everyday life, or when tough situations come up and you want someone to talk to. Messaging is not meant to be 'real-time'. Our therapists check in on their messages every day, but it should not be used in situations when you need immediate help. Your therapist will give you resources to use in those situations.

Is online counseling effective?

Yes. Over the last decade numerous research studies have shown the effective potential of online therapeutic conversation. You will find below a good start for showing the breadth of the telemedicine and online medicine field. Keep in mind that while Daybreak Health offers online counseling, our holistic mental well-being program also goes above & beyond with additional proven clinical methods around well-being tools and community creation. Is Daybreak covered by insurance?

Daybreak Health offers very affordable pricing options which are less than half the cost of traditional therapy - we believe that cost should never be a barrier to high-quality mental health support! Services offered by Daybreak Health offer two additional ways to save: 1. Insurance reimbursement for services 2. Paying with an FSA/HSA debit card Please refer to this page for more detail: https://www.daybreakhealth.com/ways-to-save

How much does Daybreak cost?

We believe that cost should not be a barrier to access for mental health support for young people. Our average cost is about 1/2 of that found in private practice for similar services. We are able to reduce prices while actually improving the availability of quality of therapists, by having our services delivered online. If our rates are still not affordable for you, let us know when filling out our questionnaire and we will work with you to make Daybreak affordable.

What if I don't relate with my matched therapist?

At Daybreak, we believe deeply in the power of the human connection. We invest in free, upfront consultations and guarantee your match with your therapist. If you need to switch to another therapist, you can do so at no extra charge!

How does matching work?

At Daybreak, we believe in the power of the human connection so we've developed a matching process that takes into account your goals, needs, symptoms, counselor preferences, and schedule to match you to a counselor. We also post the list of therapists on our website so if you would prefer to take a look there and request to work with someone - that also works!

Who will be helping me?

After you sign up, we will match you to an available therapist who fits your objectives, preferences, and the type of issues you are dealing with. Different counselors have different approaches and areas of focus, so it's important to find the right person who can achieve the best results for you. We have found that we are able to provide a successful match most of the time; however, if you start the process and you feel your therapist isn't a good fit for you, you may elect to be matched to a different therapist.

What is Daybreak Health's approach to mental health?

At Daybreak Health, we have crafted an evidence-based holistic approach to improve youth mental health. But equally as important, our approach has been co-designed by the youth, parents and schools who are a part of our community. Our 1:1 counseling approach includes: - Live sessions: work 1:1 with a licensed therapist in live video sessions - Messaging: your therapist is available every day for messaging if you have a messaging plan. In addition, our holistic mental well-being approach includes: - Medication support: psychiatric assessment and FDA-approved medication prescriptions available - Well-being tools: ranging from stress, to mindfulness, to nutrition -- a holistic approach to mental health requires integration with your life. These clinically proven methods go well beyond traditional ‘therapy’, and have been designed to achieve results and sustain gains from counseling.
