Welcome! I’m Beverly and look forward to meeting you! I’m an associate clinical social worker/psychotherapist, adjunct professor of psychology at Pepperdine University, ICF-certified life coach, and mental health columnist. My therapy approach is compassionate, empathetic, and nonjudgmental, but I also use my knowledge and training to challenge you to grow and feel better. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, stress, anger, relationship problems, and grief. As an undergraduate at UCLA, I studied French Literature and then began my decade-long career as a TV broadcast journalist, working at different news stations and eventually returning home to Los Angeles, where I was an entertainment reporter for CNN’s Turner Entertainment. Then I began my favorite job - becoming a mother to my four children! Years later, I decided to pursue graduate work to become a psychotherapist and psychology professor to inspire, support, and uplift others, especially young people. I obtained a Master of Social Work (MSW) from USC and a Doctor of Ministry in Counseling (DMin) from Andersonville Theological Seminary. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, reading literature and philosophy, playing tennis, and working out. Fun fact: I used to be a competitive bodybuilder!
