Hello, My name is Irma Mendez, I am a licensed counselor in the state of Texas. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my two adolescent children. I also enjoy watching television and exercising. I believe that having good physical health is as important as having good mental health. Most of my clinical experience has been with the adolescent population, and I have truly enjoyed working with children in different settings, such as schools and shelters. Furthermore, I chose this career, as I have a genuine interest in the mental and emotional well-being of my clients. During my sessions, I provide my clients with a safe and non-judgmental environment where they can share their concerns. My commitment is to provide the client with problem-solving skills he/she can utilize to help the youth thrive and function effectively in their environment. I believe that my willingness to listen and maintain a strong therapeutic environment is essential to any counseling relationship.
