Hello! My name is Yasharet Lopez Valencia. I am a bilingual (Spanish/English), bicultural Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have experience working with youth and their families addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, adjustments to life challenges, cultural diversity/acculturation, complex trauma, and PTSD. As a first-generation Latina, I understand the struggles that come with the responsibilities of caring for family members at a young age and difficulties in adjusting to a new culture. I understand the struggles that youth who are first generation may experience with living two cultures, as well as the stigma they may experience when seeking mental health services. My therapy approach focuses on incorporating mind, body, and soul. I seek to bring awareness when working with youth in supporting them to find purpose and fulfilment to their life. My ideal client is someone who can find joy and laughter despite the stressors they experience. Someone who even through hardships continues to be brave and who is open to learning more about themselves and the world around them. I offer empathy and respect for clients, and most importantly I seek to be part of their support system. I seek to be someone who will listen and meet them where they are in their healing journey.
